Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

Is Courted available on Android?

Yes — Courted is available on both iOS and Android.

How do I sign in?

On iOS you can sign in with Sign in with Apple — make sure you're signed into your Apple ID under Settings → Apple ID. On both iOS and Android you can also sign in with an email address and password. If you've forgotten your password, tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen to reset it.

What is an NTRP rating and how do I set mine?

NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) is the standard skill scale used by USTA leagues, running from 2.0 (beginner) to 7.0 (professional). In Courted your NTRP rating is called your skill level and is self-reported. To set or update it, go to the Profile tab and tap Edit Profile. Your rating is shown on your profile and used to help players find opponents at a matching level.

How do I update my profile?

Go to the Profile tab and tap Edit Profile. You can update your display name, skill level, and other details from there.

Pricing

Is Courted free?

Yes — Courted is currently free. Every feature is unlocked for everyone: match scheduling, the activity feed, Discover, courts, stats, photos, Shot of the Day, league tools, and all captain tools. There's nothing to subscribe to and no paywall right now.

Do I need to enter payment details or start a trial?

No. There's no trial, no card required, and nothing to cancel. Just sign in and use the app.

Will Courted always be free?

We may introduce paid plans in the future, but everything is free for now. If that ever changes, we'll let you know in advance — you won't be charged for anything without opting in first.

Scheduling & Matches

How do I schedule a match?

Tap the + button at the top of the Home screen. You can post an open match that any nearby player can accept, or send a direct match request to a specific player by searching their name. Set your preferred time (exact or a flexible window), choose a court, and you're set.

How do I log a match I already played?

Any match you've played can be logged from the Home screen — including casual matches, matches with players who aren't on Courted, and matches for a league or team that isn't set up on Courted. On the Home screen, tap Log Result → (top right). You'll land on the Log a Match screen, where you first tell Courted whether the match was scheduled through the app:

After saving, you'll have the option to add up to 3 photos, or tap Skip and add them later. The result then shows up in your stats, match history, and activity feed just like any other match.

I play in a league that isn't on Courted — how do I record those matches?

Log them the same way as any other match: from the Home screen tap Log Result →, then Not from a scheduled match →, and enter the opponent, court, date, and score. This records the match in your personal stats and history. Note this is different from a USTA league whose team is on Courted — those should be logged from the League tab so they count toward team standings (see "How do I log a league match result?" below).

How do I add photos to a match result?

After tapping Save Result on a match, you'll be prompted to add up to 3 photos from your device's photo library. If you tap Skip, you can always come back later — open the match from your activity feed or profile history and tap the photo option on the match detail page.

How do I edit or delete a match?

For regular matches, go to the Profile tab and find the match in your history. Tap the match card to open it, then tap the pencil icon in the top right to edit the score or delete the match. For league match scores, go to the League tab, open the match, and use the edit option there.

League Play

How do I join a league team?

Your team captain adds you to the team directly from within the app. If you're expecting to be on a team and don't see it in your League tab, ask your captain to add you using the email or username you signed up with. If you're a captain, go to the League tab and tap Create Team — you'll automatically become the captain.

How does league management work?

Captains manage everything from the League tab: creating the team, adding roster members, setting lineups, coordinating availability, exchanging lineups with the opposing team, and logging scores. Players can view their upcoming matches, mark their availability, and see match results.

How do I import my USTA match schedule?

When creating a league team, you can import your schedule automatically by uploading screenshots of your USTA (TennisLink) schedule — Courted reads the dates, times, and opponents from the images so you don't have to enter each match by hand. Watch the walkthrough below to see exactly how it works:

Still stuck? Email us at support@courtedcourts.com and we'll help you import.

How do I mark my availability for a league match?

Go to the League tab and open your upcoming fixture. You'll see an availability section where you can mark yourself as available, unavailable, or note a preference. Your captain will see your response when setting the lineup.

How do I log a league match result?

Go to the League tab, find your match, and tap Log Score. Enter the set scores for each court and tap Save Result. You'll have the option to add up to 3 photos — or tap Skip and add them later from the match detail page.

Does logging a score in Courted report it to USTA?

No. Courted is not connected to USTA and doesn't sync with TennisLink in either direction. Scores you log in Courted stay in Courted (for your team's view, history, and stats) and are not sent to USTA. Likewise, scores entered on USTA won't automatically appear in Courted. USTA/TennisLink remains the official system of record for your league, so keep reporting your official scores there as usual. The screenshot import is a one-time, one-way convenience for pulling in your schedule — it doesn't create an ongoing link between the two systems.

How do I dispute a league score?

If the opposing team logged a score incorrectly, your captain can edit it directly from the match in the League tab — tap into the match and use the score edit option. Both teams will be notified of the change. If you're still stuck, email us at support@courtedcourts.com.

Can a captain manage multiple teams?

Yes — you can create or manage as many league teams as you captain.

Social & Discovery

How do I find players to play with?

Go to the Discover tab to browse players near you. You can filter by skill level and city. Tap any player to view their profile, then follow them or send them a direct match request.

How do I follow another player?

Tap any player's name or avatar to open their profile. Tap the Follow button. If their profile is private, they'll receive a follow request and can approve or decline. Once you follow someone, their match results appear in your activity feed.

How do I react to or comment on a match in the feed?

Open the Activity tab to see your feed. Tap a match card to open the detail view, where you can leave a reaction or comment. Comments and reactions are visible to others who follow the match participants.

What is Shot of the Day?

Shot of the Day is a daily tennis puzzle. A new scenario is presented on a court diagram each day — tap where you'd hit your shot, then confirm. You'll see how your choice scored and the optimal play explained. Check the leaderboard to see how you rank against other players.

Notifications

What notifications does Courted send?

Courted sends push notifications across these categories (all individually toggleable):

How do I turn off specific notifications?

Go to your Profile tab, tap the settings icon, and select Notification Settings. Each category has its own toggle so you can choose exactly what you hear about.

I'm not getting notifications — what do I do?

First, check your in-app notification settings (Profile → settings icon → Notification Settings) and confirm the relevant toggles are on. Then check your device:

If notifications look enabled but still aren't arriving, try signing out and back in. Still stuck? Email us at support@courtedcourts.com.

Account & Privacy

Is my data private?

Your profile is visible to other Courted users by default. You can set your profile to private from the Profile tab — followers must be approved, and your match history won't appear on the public feed. Match data shared inside a league (scores, lineups) is visible to your teammates and opponents. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and personal data within 30 days. Match results and scores you logged with other players may remain visible in their history (e.g., a doubles partner's match record), but your name will be removed. This action cannot be undone.

How do I delete my account?

Go to your Profile tab, tap the settings icon, and select Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and associated data. The action cannot be undone.

Can I use Courted on the web?

Courted is primarily a mobile app (iOS and Android). A web version is accessible at courtedcourts.com for basic browsing, but the full experience — scheduling, league management, the social feed — is designed for the mobile app.

Troubleshooting

I can't sign in — what do I do?

On iOS, if you use Sign in with Apple, make sure you're signed into your Apple ID under Settings → Apple ID. If you signed up with email, enter your email and password on the sign-in screen and tap Forgot password if needed. On Android, use your email and password. If you're still stuck, email us at support@courtedcourts.com.

Why can't I see the activity feed or certain features?

Every feature is free and unlocked right now, so nothing should be gated. If a screen looks empty or won't load, try closing and reopening the app, and make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. If it's still not working, email us at support@courtedcourts.com.

How do I report a bug or problem?

Email us at support@courtedcourts.com with a description of what happened, what you expected, and your device/OS version. Screenshots are always helpful. We read every report.
